i have a question about how you dither, do you actually draw every pixel?
or do you have brushes/patterns that you use?

i've been working on a big pixel for once and the dithering is killing me ;_;

dithering on larger pieces can be an assss x_x. For smaller areas with mixed dithering I just do it by hand. For larger open areas like certain parts of this piece, I will often just use a self made pattern. I use the selection wand to..well 'select' the area I want the dither in and then fill that with the pattern on a new layer.I then always go back in and fix things up by hand (ie erasing areas..adding more in by hand, etc)

Some elitists might see that as somehow..'cheating' by using patterns to dither, but there is absolutely NO point in doing it by hand when you have such a huge open area of the same thing. It would be like colouring in a huge solid area pixel by pixel with one colour instead of just using the fill tool and then going in to shade detail by hand after.

Well, it's worth it! Because the result came out really nice and neat ;_; n thx to you I've been trying to learn Pixel art lately~ I haven't post any (except my icon) since they're still look crappy.. :saddumy: lol
