I'm just gonna drop this here so anyone that finds this extremely misleading stamp can at least know what's going on:
The person that created the stamp admitted in their description that they were rounding up... kind of drastically, actually. The actual exchange rate has always been 80
= $1 (which means that 100 = 1.25 cents, not 2cents)
However, that was before Deviantart allowed anyone to pay out their points to get cash. Then they introduced this: Introducing the Premium Content Platform , which is the "download for x points" on deviations, and it's also how the commission widgets work. In order to make it run more smoothly, I'm assuming, the decided to take a small portion as a fee.
So now if you said an adopt was worth $1 paypal, somebody would send you $1 on paypal and you get $1.
If you say it's worth 100 points, they send you 100 points, and when (if) you decide to cash it out, deviantart takes 20 points, which leaves you with 80 points, which cashes out to $1.
So if you want a dollar, you ask for $1 or 100 points, and in the end you get a dollar.
